Shaker - the stove's name is a reference to the characteristically straightforward and utilitarian approach to design taken by the Shakers, a Protestant community established in the USA. Inspired by the cast-iron box stoves used by Shakers in the nineteenth century, Antonio Citterio reinterpreted the traditional hearth as a modern fireplace. The winner of multiple prestigious design awards, the stove is already a modern classic, and is therefore held in high esteem by planners and architects all over the world.

The recipient of numerous accolades and design awards, Antonio Citterio (*1950) is a preeminent international architect and designer who has produced furniture and other designs for brands such as Vitra, B&B Italia and Flexform. Citterio lives and works in Milan.
